What is Mindfulness in the Workplace?

In the context of the workplace a practice of mindfulness helps to increase focus and concentration,  and empirical research has shown that it is effective in tackling employee stress and improving productivity. Mindfulness is a human capacity to notice our experience in the present moment, with an open and allowing attitude. A mindfulness programme is a form of training which cultivates this capacity. This heightened awareness and attentiveness to what is happening in the present moment can be applied to daily tasks and interactions at work.

Research into mindfulness in the workplace reports improvements in work-related outcomes including resilience, creativity, performance, interpersonal relationships and wellbeing.

A training in mindfulness will give participants the opportunity to learn and experience different mindful meditations, to learn about definitions and theories of mindfulness, and in particular to focus in on how mindfulness might be applied in the workplace.
